In this house in the village of Trentemoult, the project focused on several spaces with a dual goal: to increase natural light and functionality while adding character to the rooms.
In the living area, the client wanted to bring more natural light into the kitchen while adding practical storage. The existing staircase was therefore opened up and redesigned as a true architectural feature, now appearing almost suspended thanks to its full-height matte white thermolacquered metal railings. The bleached natural oak steps enhance the feeling of lightness and brightness.
In the small 7 m² bedroom, a custom-made mezzanine was designed to accommodate a raised bed, intended to evolve with the child. Access is via a Japanese-style step staircase, which is playful, space-saving, and safe. The floor space is thus freed up for play, storage, or a desk, in a calm and joyful atmosphere enhanced by a deep, enveloping blue.
In the bathroom, the goal was to blend modernity with raw materials while incorporating a shower, bathtub, toilet, changing area, and even two washing machines. A discreet laundry area was created at the back of the room, hidden behind a large closet. The revisited Louis XIV-style mirror adds an unexpected touch of elegance.
