Renovation of a house in Nantes - 180 m2

This family of five purchased an old house in the Saint Felix neighborhood of Nantes. They wanted to transform the dark, compartmentalized ground floor into an open, bright living space. A contemporary renovation filled with light.

We created a large glass bay window to open up beautifully onto the garden. Since the family’s main living area is the kitchen, its location allows them to fully enjoy the garden view.
The fireplace had to be preserved after the wall was removed. We therefore designed a bold central unit between the kitchen and the living room: a fireplace insert on the living room side, and storage on the kitchen side (including a countertop with electrical outlets to hide small appliances like the toaster, kettle, etc.). This central unit also includes a bookshelf on the dining room side.
Changes to the layout: access to the restroom and cellar was closed off in the staircase area and relocated to the living room side. This allowed us to create an entrance storage unit for coats, shoes, and accessories.

For the decor, we chose a fresh, soft, and bright atmosphere.
